Injector Dead Time is used to compensate for the fact the injectors will open slower with lower battery voltages, such as during cranking, or, on some engines, different electrical loads when the alternator voltage drops.


Your injector supplier will be able to tell you the data to enter into this field, as well as there being some pre-sets under the tables "Menu" button.


You can tune it by getting the engine to a stable RPM, and by disconnecting the alternator or changing the battery voltage by another means, you can tune the table such that despite the battery voltage changing, the current AFR of your engine remains the same.


It is essentially adding on the millisecond time to the calculated required pulse-width from the rest of the ECUs fuel equation.


An example table is shown below. Note the injector supplier only gave data to 15 volts, so above 15 volts the table remains the same.
