Vehicle Speed can be captured from either CANbus or from a physical VSS Hall Effect sensor.


Its settings can be accessed under the "System" node of the entity tree.



After setting the mode and source, enter your gear and final ratios.


Then, using a GPS speedo to compare you can configure the pulses per distance. In the above, we can see that "4000 pulses" will yield one mile.


Confirm the Speed readout in the VSS Speed and adjust these pulses per mile till it matches your GPS reading.


Then, adjust the "Magic Mul" number such that the gears are correctly computed which can be confirmed by driving.


VSS Calculated Speed is what the ECU calculates in the background based on the RPM and the gear you are using based on the ratios - the ECU will "select" a gear based on which VSS Calc. Speed and which ratio multipliers (by trying each gear ratio in turn) get the Calculated VSS closest to the VSS Speed readout, therefore determining the current gear.


The current gear can then be used by the boost by gear system.
