EGT Protection
EGT protection will either limit or shut down the engine should Exhaust Gas Temperatures exceed the set point (Max EGT) for longer than the set time (Trigger Time(ms).
The tuner will need to establish acceptable limits during the mapping process to avoid false triggers. The RPM limit can be set such that a limiter is brought in to attempt to lower EGTs, or can be set to 0 to completely shut down the engine.
Ensure you have confirmed EGT is reading correctly. Note this is only available on the 442 and above range which has inbuilt EGT amplifiers. See the section on installation of EGT sensors.
